Navigate Affordable Housing is dedicated to advancing housing choice. We act as agents of change working to revitalize communities, empower people, and strengthen the housing industry. We develop, own, and manage affordable housing properties while serving as a federal government contractor.

We believe that well-built, livable, and quality housing is essential for every person. We are on a mission to not only make housing affordability a reality but the norm. We are working with community organizations, public housing authorities, and government agencies to make that happen for the communities of Birmingham, AL; Flowood, MS; Hartford, CT; and Richmond, VA.

We take a holistic approach to community development, recognizing the specific needs of every community. Our team works to provide custom solutions for the people who make up the community. We believe in sustainable development that relies on three pillars: stabilization, catalytic development, and revitalization. This approach ultimately drives growth for the entire city of Birmingham.

SEEKING INNOVATIONS

We are committed to bringing growth to the community of North Titusville, Birmingham. One of our current projects will see the currently abandoned Marc Steel property turn into a vibrant economic hub known as The Yard. The Yard will serve the community by hosting a market for local vendors selling items including food, arts, and crafts alongside several affordable housing units.

We also believe that an important role of a strong community is education. As one of Washington Elementary's partners, Navigate has provided funds for the school to begin an ACT Prep Program, financing for new uniforms for Washington K-8 athletes, financial support that allows students to take part in out-of-city competitions, and sponsorship for summer camps for the Birmingham, AL United Soccer Association.

Our mission is to invest in communities, provide quality, affordable housing options, and offer services that benefit the entire housing industry. Navigate's urban development projects include building new homes for the residents of Birmingham's communities; the houses we design and build are inclusive and accessible for disabled individuals.

Housing Development Projects

We are grateful to have had the opportunity to work on several affordable housing projects in the Birmingham area. Our most recent projects include Four Winds East, a housing project for low-income, elderly, and disabled individuals located in the Avondale community, and St. Charles Villas, located in a serene country setting just minutes from downtown Birmingham.
Currently, Navigate is working in the North Titusville neighborhood to bring three new homes to 1st Avenue South, five new homes in Goldwire Heights, and to demolish the uninhabitable unit at 5th and Center (previously known as "Center Court Apartments") to make room for new affordable housing for the members of the North Titusville community.
